TIA to allow entrance of passengers & staffs only during BIMSTEC Summit 2018

Tribhuvan International Airport Civil Aviation Office (TIACAO) has issued a press release regarding the circulation of security-related regulations during 4th BIMSTEC Summit 2018 going to be held at Kathmandu on August 30 and 31.

As per TIACAO, following regulations have to be followed at the TIA vicinity including domestic area.

1.  People other than passengers are restricted at the Golden Gate entrance point.

 

a.  If passengers are capable to reach the airport by themselves then the airport authority has requested other unnecessary persons not to enter the airport.

b.      If any passenger is sick, differently abled or mandatorily requires assistance then one relative is allowed to enter under the supervision and inquiry of police.

c.      Once the passenger queues up for the departure after check in then the assistant (relative) is requested to exit within 10-15 minutes.

2.    Vehicles other than those for airport service are restricted

a.   Any vehicles carrying the passengers must exit airport immediately after dropping passengers/goods without heading towards parking area

b.      All the empty taxis are restricted to enter from Golden Gate unless they have airport pass, identification or are carrying passengers.

c.       Those who (hotels or private companies) have already contacted incoming passengers for a pick up then they are required to only arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to the landing of the aircraft and immediately leave the airport after receiving their guests.

d.      All vehicle owners who don’t have the official facility have to pay the airport vehicle parking charge.

e.      If anyone parks vehicles on no parking zone or no stopping zone then he/she will be charged by the Traffic Police.
