National flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is set to sell its only left Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACB’ and is now ending its 3 decade long Boeing era. NAC is following Airbus era with procurement of 2 Airbus A320s and two newly bought wide-body A330. Besides, the corporation is also planning to procure A320 neos.
Three international companies had filed the proposal for the evaluation of the aircraft which were American Fintech, UK’s International Aviation Group and Singapore Rid (Flight Global) Aviation. The corporation stated that Flight Global from Singapore was selected for evaluation.
After the company evaluates and provides appropriate value of the aircraft, the corporation will present it to Board of Directors and after receiving approval from BoD, the airlines will call for public offer to sell the aircraft. The evaluation work is expected to be completed by September and work to call for public offering will be commenced.
The corporation had already sold one of two Boeing 757 last year to BB airways in order to operate only Airbus aircraft. Now the corporation is in final procedure to sell another 190 seater Boeing. The airlines has planned to operate only one kind of aircraft as to operate 2 different aircraft, arrangements should be made separately all to engineers and pilots as well and pilots and engineers who have specialized in one aircraft cannot work in other. This will also increase the cost for the airlines.
