The Mi-8MTV-1 Russian manufactured helicopter acquiring Nepalese registration ‘9N-AHT’ that crash landed at Syangboche airport has been repaired.
According to the Officials, the airline engineering team has repaired the chopper after replacing the damaged nose landing gear with the new one and is anticipated to fly back within a couple of days.
The ‘9N-AHT’ Helicopter on May 09 was operating as a cargo flight en-route from Phaplu Airport Helipad to Syangboche Airfield but following the incident during landing at Syangboche, the aircraft remaines grounded at the Airport.

The Mi-8 is a medium twin-turbine helicopter, originally designed by the Soviet Union, and now produced by Russia. In addition to its most common role as a transport helicopter, the Mi-8 is also used as an airborne command post, armed gunship, and reconnaissance platform. Along with the related, more powerful Mil Mi-17, the Mi-8 is among the world’s most produced helicopters, used by over 50 countries. As of 2015, it is the third most common operational military aircraft in the world.
