Tara Air Twin Otter ‘9N-AEV’ averts a catastrophic disaster while landing at Jumla Airport

Tara Air’s De Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin-otter with registration ‘9N-AEV’ crash landed at Jumla Airport today at around 2:50 PM.

The preliminary information reveals that the aircraft crash landed at Jumla Airport following the puncture on its Nose landing gear and skidded of the runway and collided a wired fence ahead sustaining damage on its nose badly. The flight took off from Nepalgunj to Jumla at 2:15 PM with 16 passengers on board.

The passengers and crew on board encountered minor injuries during the incident. Captain JK Niraula, Co-Pilot Hikmat Rokaya with Cabin attendant Pratima Rana and 16 Passengers onboard were on the flight. No major injuries or casualties are reported from the incident. The aircraft sustained damaged on its front part and prevented the other damages.

Earlier on November 28, 2017, the Tara Air Twin Otter ‘9N-ABM’ encountered an analogues incident at Simikot Airport while it was preparing for take-off to Surkhet.
