Biratnagar airport is undergoing maintenance work due to which airport is scheduled to be closed partially. Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has commenced the maintenance and up-gradation work for the airport.
The airport will undergo maintenance and enhancement for which it will be closed after 2pm. The runway hasn’t been maintained since a long period time so the authority have initiated the refurbishment project for the airport.
The airport will operate from morning to day time till 2 as usual. The repair work was started from Saturday and is expected to be continued for coming next 2 week.
Biratnagar Airport is a significant hub for domestic travelers with the maximum number of passengers takes off and lands at the airport regularly making it second busiest airport in the nation. The airport features several daily flights to destinations in the Eastern Nepal -Taplejung, Tumlingtar, Bhojpur, Lamidanda, Rumjatar and Phaplu.
