Simikot Airport, busiest airport of Far-Western Region has encountered heavy snowfall leading to cancellations of flights from Nepalgunj and Surkhet. There has been snowfall from last night to this morning at Humla.
As per the information from the airport, the snowy weather has improved from 9 am in the morning and the schedule flights are happening after 10 am.
Passengers have been in trouble after regular flights to Nepalgunj and Surkhet from Humla could not take place because of snowfall yesterday. Moreover, SEE candidates whose exam has begun from today are also affected.
However, farmers are pleased and delighted in the hope of getting good crops this time.
Consequently, regular flights to and from the Simikot Airport and Surkhet airport have been disrupted due to the snowfall.
Simikot Airport is located at an elevation of 9,751 ft (2,971 m) above mean sea level. The airport possess a Single asphalt runway of a length of 650 meters aligned to 010 degrees and 280 degrees serving as one of the country’s busiest domestic airport these days.
