23 out of 26 dead bodies to be taken back to Bangladesh today

The bodies of 23 Bangladeshis who died in tragic crash at Kathmandu Airport will be dispatched to Bangladesh today.

As per the information, a cargo aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force will depart to Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Out of 26 dead Bangladeshis, 23 were identified till yesterday whereas the remaining 3 bodies could be identified by today. The post-mortem of the bodies is being conducted at TU Teaching Hospital.

The 23 bodies were first taken to the Embassy of Bangladesh and then to TIA. The media from Bangladesh reported that the cargo aircraft will reach Bangladesh by 4 pm today.

Two of the injured Bangladeshis are already taken to Singapore for further treatment whereas 5 have already been flown back to home country.

The flight UBG 211 from Dhaka to Kathmandu with 67 passengers and four crew members on board, caught fire after it veered off the runway and ploughed into a football ground near the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on March 12, killing 51 people, marking Nepal’s worst aviation disaster in more than 25 years.
