Tarigaun Airport at Dang, Tulsipur will feature fuel depot facility soon

Tarigaun Airport at Dang, Tulsipur will feature fuel depot facility soon for the continuation of regular flight operations.

Previously, airline operators did not show their interest to operate at Dang stating the airport lacks refueling facility however, Summit Air resumed service at the airport from 7th January, 2018.

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) initiated necessary technical protocols and directed officials to prepare the resumption of the long shut down airport after repeated pressure from locals and authorities of Dang.

Now, the authorities have taken step to introduce fuel depot facility at the airport to encourage operators.

Ghaneshyam Pandey, Mayor of Sub-municipality informed that the depot will be established soon which will end long-term dilemma regarding the operation of fuel depot.

The concerned authorities have already agreed to introduce fuel depots immediately in Tulsipur.

The Minister has informed that the study will be initiated for immediate implementation of the fuel depot from this month. The Mayor has discussed with Minister Yadav on establishing industrial sector in Tulsipur whereas the registration of industry at the local level has also been discussed.

Dang (Tarigaun) Airport is located in western Nepal at an elevation of 634 m./2080 ft. above mean sea level. The airport has Bituminous Paved (Asphalt Concrete) runway with its dimension of 750 m x 30 meter aligned to 160 degrees and 340 degrees. The airport currently has three parking bay which can accommodate the STOL aircraft like Dornier D228, DHC6 Twin Otter, LET L410, Harbin Y12e and Cessna Grand Caravan C208.
