Government allocates 150 days for the US-Bangla Crash investigation

The investigation procedures of US Bangla crash at Kathmandu has begun as the investigation committee initiated their work from Tuesday, March 13. The government has formed a 6 member investigation committee.

The 6-member inquiry team has already visited the crash site for collecting evidences.

The initiation of investigation procedures was informed through the press meet at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Tuesday. As per the officials, the committee who can seek assistance from experts must prepare the report within 5 months.

Various international committee have also committed to aid the investigation of the tragic crash. The technical documents and history of the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 will be obtained from Bangladesh which is vital for the investigation protocol.

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has also expressed concern on the leakage of VHF/HF confidential audio clip between ATC and US Bangla pilots. Director General of CAAN Mr. Sanjeev Gautam said that they have already informed Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal (CIB) for the necessary investigation.

Gautam also said that the audio can be available through various applications however, it can only be used for reference purpose not for publishing on the internet. This has created a huge concern as the CEO of US-Bangla Airlines has already blamed ATC after listening the audio communication. Gautam said that the declaration of CEO has no any clue or proof as the case is fully technical and requires detail and accurate investigation.

Death count has reached to 51 following a tragic crash at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on 12th March, 2018. There were 49 fatalities previously but 2 out of 22 survivors died yesterday while undergoing treatment making it a total of 51 fatalities.
