The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Rajdeep Shakya, Non-Gazetted First Class Officer (Nayab Subba) at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday, accusing him of corruption on fixation of custom revenue on the imported foreign goods.
Mr. Padam Prasad Pandey, Spokesperson for CIAA, Nepal stated that he was arrested from his office along with bribe of fifty thousand rupees from the customers.
An officer at the CIAA confirmed that Shakya had asked some amount for helping the separation of two shipments of silver from the custom which was imported from foreign country.
Additional information will be disclosed only after further investigation by the CIAA.
