The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has proposed schedule direct flight to operate Riyadh King Khalid International Airport (RUH). As per the preliminary information from the official, flight RA-219 (Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat), RA-220 (Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun) will be conducting four flights a week to the King Khalid airport at Saudi Arabia. These schedule flight will come into operation after NAC receives two wide-body aircraft in the coming months.
NAC Continuing Airworthiness Management (CAM) department has already informed all interested CAR 145 Maintenance Organizations at Riyadh King Khalid International Airport (RUH) for the Line maintenance support of A330 powered with RR Trent 772B engines.
As According to Flag Carrier notice on 29th Jan 2018, the sealed bids must be submitted to the Office of the Director, CAM Department of NAC at Tribhuvan International Airport within 15 calendar days from the date of publication from the date of publication of the short notice.
The Submitted Quotation for outstation Line Maintenance Support at RUH, Riyadh must be signed by authorized personnel and company stamp must be present on each page and the format of the proposal shall be as per IATA SGHA 2013. Interested CAR 145 Maintenance Organizations must also provide CAR 145 approval of local authority and EASA/FAA 145 approval certificates of current validity with written commitment to obtain CAA of Nepal AMO Validation Certificate if selected. If obtained already, please submit certificate.
The Civil Aviation Ministry has designated three international long-haul routes for Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) to serve after it receives its two wide-body aircraft on order in the next six months. A minister-level decision on December 24, 2017 had approved flag carrier to expand its international flight network and operate flights to Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia, ministry officials said.
The flag carrier is operating domestic and international flights with its 9 aircraft. 2 Twin-Otter (DHC-6), 2 MA 60 and 2 Y12e operates for domestic sector whereas 1 Boeing 757 and 2 Airbus A320s operate international flights to 7 destinations around the world. NAC who has plans to increase fleet size is nearing to take the delivery of two A330-200 wide-body aircraft that will serve the industry with its long-distance flights to Korea, Japan and Australia.
