A Chinese woman was arrested with USD 46,480 dollar’s and 1,600 Chinese Yuan from Tribhuvan International Airport yesterday. The woman was caught by the security persons during the security check at the airport.
The detainee has been identified as a 41 years old Chinese woman, Yankun Duwan. She was traveling to Bhutan carrying the illegal amount of foreign currency but was suspected by the security personals at the airport.
As been informed, she had the foreign currency in her hand carry bag. She was arrested from the airport yesterday and currently is under police custody for investigation.
Carrying huge amount of foreign currency and gold is not permitted through the air transport and is considered illegal.
