After the long experience of conducting flight operation from TIA, Kathmandu, Buddha Air has finally started its commercial flight operation from Pokhara today. The first flight from Pokhara to Bharatpur departed at 10 am local time and then returned from Bharatpur at 10:35 am.
An official from Buddha Air informed that the second flight to Bhairahawa departed from Pokhara at 11:10 am and will return back at 11:40 am. One of the Buddha Air’s Beechcraft 1900D is operating the schedule flights from Pokhara to Bharatpur and Bhairahawa. At present, the airline has scheduled one flight each for Bharatpur and Bhairahawa on daily basis.
The company has also planned to operate mountain flights from Pokhara however; there are no any bookings at present, reported the official. Till the Dashain festival, the airline will not make its base at Pokhara. The Beechcraft 1900D is currently operating flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then to Bharatpur and Bhairahawa however, the aircraft will make its main base in Pokhara shortly.
The company charges Nrs.3650 (including airport service charge of Nrs.200) for Pokhara-Bharatpur flights whereas the airfare is Nrs.4200 (including airport service charge of Nrs.200) for Pokhara-Bhairahawa flights.
Passengers traveling to Pokhara from Bhairahawa and Bharatpur through the Muglin-Narayanghat roadway have been obstructed by long traffic caused by the on-going constructional work at the highway section. The roadway journey which generally takes 5 hours to reach Pokhara from Bharatpur usually takes about 10 hours these days. So, the initiation of Buddha Air’s flight to Bharatpur and Bhairahawa from Pokhara will certainly benefit the passengers.
