The Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACB’ which departed to ST Aerospace, Singapore for scheduled C-Check on 13th July will arrive back to Nepal by tomorrow morning. Engineering Director for Nepal Airlines Corporation Mr. Poshak Gyanwali said, “The C-Check of the Boeing 757 was completed yesterday. The aircraft will land at TIA tomorrow morning and will initiate its commercial operation shortly.”
The Boeing 757 will be arriving Nepal under the command of NAC’s pilots, cabin crews and engineering team.
It almost took two months for the completion of the scheduled C-Check for NAC’s Boeing 757. C-Check is the advanced maintenance check requiring a majority of the aircraft’s components to be inspected. It is performed approximately every 20-24 months or a specific amount of actual flight hours or as per the requirement details from the manufacturer. Due to the complexity of C-check, it is carried out in a hangar at a maintenance base having huge space.
NAC will relieve some pressure after the arrival of 757 as the two Airbus A320-200 are handling all the international flights. Moreover, NAC is also bearing hefty loss following the termination of various flights conducted by the ‘9N-ACB’. Now the arrival of the aircraft from Singapore will enhance the flight operation of NAC as the festive season is also nearing.
The corporation previously tried to wet-lease one Airbus A319 from Bhutan Airlines to lessen the loss from the absence of ‘9N-ACB’ however, some circumstances did not allow to do so and NAC encountered hefty loss following the termination of flights.
