Tibet Airlines has applied an application to the Civil Aviation Administration of China in August 26, this year seeking to operate a thrice-weekly Xian-Kathmandu service.
The carrier plans to launch this service in September, which will replace its existing new Chengdu-Lhasa-Kathmandu route. It intends to deploy either Airbus A319s or A330s on the route, says the Administration. At present, Xi’an direct flights to Kathmandu ‘TV6019’ Xi’an is 08:55 for takeoff, 12:40 (Beijing time) for landing Kathmandu; return ‘TV6020’ Kathmandu 13:40 (Beijing time) for take-off, 19:25 for landing Xi’an. The airline will be the only operator on the Xian-Kathmandu route.
The route constitutes of spectacular scenery of Sichuan Province Gongga Mountain, Siguniang Mountain snow-capped mountains beauty; across one of the three holy lakes in Tibet – sheep Zhuo Yong Lake; also the rolling peaks of Mount Everest. It is reported that the route is the first route in Xi’an-Nepal, and Xi’an is also the hub for the 49 international routes.
Tibet Airlines is an airline based at Lhasa Gonggar Airport in Tibet, China. The airline commenced its operations in July 26, 2011 and operates scheduled domestic services.
