Buddha Air, a competent private airliner of the country, has set up a plan to conduct direct flights to Bharatpur from Pokhara. The company expects to initiate one daily flight Pokhara-Bharatpur-Pokhara from 15th September this year.
As per the senior official from Buddha Air Mr. Rupesh Joshi, “The Company is approaching the decision following the increased pressure and demand from Travel Agencies. The direct flight will especially target the tourists.” Buddha Air will conduct one month trial phase to evaluate the feasibility of direct flights from Pokhara to Bharatpur, he added.
Also, the air travel is in high demand due to the degrading condition of Narayangadh-Muglin highway.
Buddha Air has been serving the domestic flight operation privately in Nepal for last 20 years. It operates the services from TIA based main station and connects the capital with nine major cities of the country with its ATR 72-500, ATR 42-320 and Beech craft 1900 D aircraft.
