Yeti Airlines determined to be more competent after the arrival of ATR 72-500

Yeti Airlines, one of the oldest and competent airline companies of Nepal, is nearing to take the delivery of first ever ATR 72-500 aircraft in its history. Ground Handling Manager of Yeti Airlines Bhim Raj Rai said, “The ATR 72-500 aircraft is expected to depart on 19th July, 2017 from Singapore however; the official confirmation is yet to be made.” The company has already dispatched flight crews to France for ATR 72 training purpose, he added.

Shahi informed that a minimum of two weeks will be required after the arrival of ATR 72 to achieve Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and initiate commercial operation. He also said, “The company has no any plans to add new routes so, the ATR 72 will operate flights on current destinations.”

As per the information, the aircraft is currently with Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) based in Singapore which provides aircraft leasing solutions to a wide range of airlines globally with its active fleet of over 350 aircraft. Yeti Airlines claims the ATR 72 with the age of 8 years is the youngest of all ATR aircraft in the country.

Yeti Airlines will be the third ATR aircraft operator in the country after Buddha Air and Necon Air. Being a well-established reputed airliner of Nepal, Yeti (established on 1998) currently owns seven Jetstream 41s aircraft and serves 10 major destinations of Nepal.

The ATR 72-500 series aircraft is a twin-engine turboprop short-haul regional airliner manufactured jointly by the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR.
