NRNA initiates one-month long cleaning campaign at TIA in collaboration with CAAN

Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) initiated one-month long cleaning campaign from yesterday at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in collaboration with Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and the airport authority. According to the NRNA, the main aim of the campaign is to beautify the country’s only international airport and present a good impact on tourists.

NRNA has dispatched Khem’s Cleaning Services (a cleaning company based in Sydney, Australia) for the campaign. Civil Aviation Authority from TIA is providing assistance and resource to the cleaning services. The campaign is run at night-time i.e. from midnight (12:30) to around 5 in the morning. The skilled workers at Khem’s Cleaning Services will also train the laborers currently working at TIA’s cleaning department.

The agreement was finalized between CAAN and NRNA focuses on decorating the TIA’s terminal with technological advancements and international standards. Especially, NRNA is conducting the campaign to promote tourism and create awareness about the negative impact of filthy airport on tourists.

This is probably a huge initiation and source of awareness from NRNA as the country’s sole international airport is criticized of poor sanitation and services.  General Manger of TIA Devanand Upadhaya said, “We have been facing lots of controversies related to the facilities and sanitation at TIA. NRNA has come up with effective campaign so, it is a matter of challenge for us to keep continuation of such campaign.”
