NAC’s Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACB’ remains grounded following technical glitch

Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACB’ has been grounded at Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) hangar for more than 10 days following technical glitch in the engine. As per the official from NAC’s engineering department, the Boeing aircraft received crack in its engine mount and is waiting for the replacement.

The defected engine equipment is to be replaced with new one for which NAC has ordered from Singapore Technology (ST) Aerospace. But delay in arrival of the new engine equipment has been grounding the aircraft for lengthy time.

Due to the occasional grounding of Boeing 757, NAC’s international flight is being disturbed and the pressure is building upon its two Airbus A320s. The corporation is also trying to wet lease one A319/A320/A321 aircraft to enhance its international flight and release pressure on its two Airbus A320s.

The negotiation on wet lease agreement of Airbus A319 between NAC and Bhutan Airlines is going on and will be finalized soon as NAC is trying to receive the aircraft by the second week of July. NAC is also about to auction its vintage Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACA’.
