Himalaya Airlines welcomed Tibet Airlines Airbus A319 at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) after the Chengdu-Kathmandu bound test flight successfully landed at around 5:12 pm local time yesterday.
An official from the airlines said, “We will shortly initiate direct flights to Chengdu, China from Kathmandu in coordination with Tibet Airlines. It is a wet lease agreement with the Tibet Airlines.” The airline is also planning to connect Beijing with Kathmandu, the official added.
The test flight landed at TIA yesterday along with the officials and test flight teams from Tibet Airlines. The Chengdu-Kathmandu flights is expected to be launched soon however; official announcement is yet to come.
Himalaya Airlines is a proud owner of three Airbus A320s and is currently conducting scheduled flights to four destinations namely Dubai, Doha, Kuala Lumpur and Yangon.
