Chopper accident in Badrinath killed one and injured two pilots

Agusta 119 helicopter owned by Mumbai-based private operator Kestrel Aviation met an accident on Saturday morning in Badrinath, Uttarakhand while it was on its way to Haridwar. A crew member couldn’t survive the crash whereas two pilots were injured. All the five passengers on board were reported to be safe.

As per the police officials, the accident happened at 0745 hours. They further added the single-engine helicopter was misbalanced at the time of takeoff due to insufficient air pressure and fell down. Chamoli Superintendent of Police Tripti Bhatt also told that the engineer Vikram Lamba was hit by rotor blades. Captain Waje PIC and co-pilot Captain Alka were injured and were reported to be out of danger.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in New Delhi informed that they were investigating the incident.
