NAC’s Grounded Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACB’ resumes its operation

Boeing 757-2F8 ‘9N-ACB’ Gandaki belonging to Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has resumed its schedule fight operation from yesterday after remaining grounded in Doha for a week. The aircraft yesterday conducted its flight from Doha to Kathmandu. The Boeing 757 ‘Gandaki’ as deliver to Nepal Airlines on Sep 1988 and has completed 28.9 years of flight operation.

The aircraft which has been grounded for a week at Hamad International Airport (DOH), Doha had resulted huge amount of loss to NAC. The aircraft made an emergency landing at Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha last week after 30 Minutes of departure caused by the malfunction on the aircraft resulted by high temperature on the equipment. As per the aircraft procedure, after the warning of high temperature on the equipment the aircraft must land within the half hour of warning.

The aircraft also suffered substantial damage on the landing gear during emergency landing resulted by the extreme overweight of the fuel. The engineer’s team had finally maintained the aircraft. NAC currently has four daily passengers flight to Doha from Kathmandu. This is not the very first time that the Boeing 757 “Gandaki” has been grounded.

Due to the grounding of Nepal Airlines, the schedule flight operation to Qatar and Kuala Lumpur had also been halted. Next Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACA’ belonging to Nepal Airlines Corporation remains grounded at its hangar since long time which has compelled another Boeing 757 ‘9N-ACB’ to conduct all the flight to several sectors such as Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi, etc. Currently, Nepal Airlines has four aircraft serving the international sectors; two Boeing’s 757 and two Airbus A320-233.
