Airports Construction Projects to be accelerated by Parliament Committee

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has been warned by the International Relations and Labour Committee of the Legislature-Parliament for the finalization of plans designs and acceleration of the Nijgadh International Airport construction project at Bara.
Legislators of the Committee during the meeting held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 denigrated the stagnant headway of Airport Construction project.
In Addition, the Ministry of Environment focused on to carry out the airport’s Environmental Impact Assessment. Furthermore, the Ministry committed to remove the entire barrier of the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport and also initiate the construction work of Pokhara International Airport with proper fashion.
Similarly, the committee has directed concerned authorities to complete the first phase of the construction of a road leading to Rajbiraj Airport at the earliest and start the second phase. The Committee has also focused the concerned authorities to complete the construction of road heading to Rajbiraj Airport.
Admitting to the delay in the construction of Nijgadh Airport, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev informed the discussion meeting would be held among leaders of major political parties within this month in order to strike agreement on preparing a model for the construction. He also said, “letter of intent has been asked to select advisors of international standard to prepare a detailed design for the construction of the first phase of the project.”
