Kailash Tour to increase flight frequency at Nepalgunj-Simikot route
May 8, 2017
Kailash Tour via Simikot is an excellent journey to Mt. Kailash which is one of the best trekking destinations in the remote western part of Nepal.
Mt. Kailash (22028 Feet), considered to be a physical embodiment of the mythical Mt. Meru, is believed to be the most sacred mountain in the world. Its snow dusted rock pyramid is located in the scenically rich area of western Tibet, which lies between the Himalayas and Karakurum ranges. From its peak, one can enjoy the views of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Nepal. It is considered most auspicious to make a religious pilgrimage around its fifty-three kilometres circuit (32 miles parikrama).
According to our reporter Mr. Bishnu, Mount Kailash tour has started from 5th of May and it is expected to receive more than 30 thousands visitors. So, the flight frequency is expected to increase with certain pace.
Simikot is the gateway to Mount Kailash so; the domestic airline operators conduct regular flights to Simikot from Nepalgunj. Currently, Goma Air, Tara Air and Sita Air conduct schedule flights to Simikot. There were five aircraft (two LET410 of Goma Air, two Twin Otter of Tara Air and one Dornier of Sita Air) set for takeoff to Simikot today morning.
