Though the first regional jet aircraft brought in the country was by the retired Cosmic Air with its 105 seated Fokker 100, in 2014, then Saurya Airlines hold the second position and brought another regional jet aircraft in the country and successfully conducted flights assuring that the regional jets can perform much faster and efficient in the country and air travel is all about saving time and getting into business. Now, Shree Airlines had finally added two Bombardier CRJ-200 Jet aircraft to serve the domestic sectors. Shree Airlines plans to operate mountain flights and domestic flights to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi route with its two jets.

CAAN REQUIREMENTS FOR USED AIRCRAFT:-

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the age of any used pressurized aircraft for leasing or for purchase by any airline or aircraft operator is 15 years however; the age of first CRJ-200 that Shree acquired has exceeded 15 years.

Various official aviation sites depict that the age of Shree’s first CRJ-200 is already 15.1 years which is against the lease and purchase rule of CAAN. So, it is a matter of strong question to CAAN and other respective authorities on how they approved the outdated aircraft to arrive and operate in Nepal. An immediate investigation has to be dispatched to find out the reality behind the issue otherwise the operation of such aircraft would neglect aviation safety.
