Eagle Air Let-410 Rejected Take-off resulted Runway Excursion

An Eagle Air Let-410 ‘5X-EIV’ performing flight H7-360 from Yei (South Sudan) to Arua (Uganda) suffered substantial damage on 1st April after the crew rejected takeoff at high speed which resulted runway excursion.

The flight was carrying 17 passengers and 3 crew. The aircraft went off the runway and came to a complete stop with the nose gear collapsed.

All the passengers on board survived however, some of them encountered minor injuries. The pilot informed that one of engine nozzles failed at high speed and when he tried to reject takeoff the nose gear failed after applying brakes and ended up in the bushes off the runway.

Yei Airport, located at position N4.127386 E30.737818, offers a dirt runway of about 1300 meters/4200 feet length in approximate direction 10/28.
