Three pieces of debris have been confirmed as certainly from the plane. Despite creating dilemma, the five other pieces is highly likely from the plane. The confirmed pieces are wing fragment, flaperon and wing flap whereas the likely pieces are main cabin interior panel, horizontal stabilizer, flap track fairing and engine cowling.

The reason behind the incident is supposed to be electrical fault according to the latest lawsuit filed against Boeing in USA. The filed lawsuit in US District Court representing the families claims an electrical fire forced the aircraft to depressurize which incapacitated the crew and led the plane flying on auto-pilot until running out of fuel.
