NAC’s new aircraft conducted first flight to Bhairahawa

Newly brought Modern Arc MA60 from China embarked its domestic flight from Saturday. The new Chinese MA60 aircraft started its domestic flight to Bhairahawa at 3 pm on Saturday as stated by NAC’s spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha.

The first flight to Bhairahawa was in command of Pilot Grishma Shrestha and twenty-two passengers were onboard in the Chinese aircraft. Shrestha said “the aircraft that flew to Bhairahawa at 3 pm returned back to Kathmandu later on same day. The newly arrived MA60 is named Fewa and registered ‘9N-AKR’.

NAC now has totally 5 aircraft for domestic flights after MA 60 started its fleet. The Harbin Y12-e that arrived along with MA60 is unable to conduct flights due to pending documentation procedure. Right after the completion of the process, the aircraft will join flag carrier’s domestic fleet as stated by Shrestha.

MA60 will fly daily to Biratnagar and Dhangadi from Kathmandu. Also, the aircraft is scheduled to fly Bhadrapur from Kathmandu for four days in a week namely Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday.  The aircraft has 56 seat capacity. Likewise, Y-12e named as Gaunthali will conduct its flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu twice a day and to Nepalgunj once a day.

Harbin Y12-e is a 17-seater aircraft. This aircraft will conduct Kathmandu-Bhairahawa flights four days a week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday) also Kathmandu-Simara flights three days a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday). Currently, NAC has two 56-seater Xian MA60, 17-seater Harbin Y12-e and 19-seater Twin Otter aircraft each for domestic operation.
