Buddha Air’s plane to be chartered for Indian President

Kathmandu – 26 October 2016

The Indian president Mr. Pranav Mukherjee who will be travelling to Nepal from Kartik 17 to Karthik 19 will be travelling by Buddha Air to travel to Janakpur and Pokhara through its chartered airplane. Mr. Mukherjee will be arriving on 17th of Karthik via Air India and he has been scheduled to travel Janakpur and Pokhara.

President Mukherjee will be travelling to Janakpur via Buddha Air on 19th of Karthik and after visiting the place for an hour he will be travelling to Pokhara, return to Kathmandu and finally return to his home country the same day.

The operations manager Mr. Subarna Kharel has informed that 42 seated two ATR 42 aircraft will be chartered for a day while the another aircraft will be on standby by in case of emergency keeping in mind the VVIP guests.

Mr. Kharel has further added that the chartering cost would have been 33 thousand dollars for a day but since the Ministry of Tourism has asked for a 15 percent discount, the cost came to 28 thousand dollars. The chance to provide the facility to the President will be a huge potential branding of the airlines.

Due to unavailability of enough aircraft with Nepal Airlines, the private airliner has got the chance. Nepal airlines has only two aircraft for domestic flights and two Chinese aircraft are also in stock but they do not operate properly.

Buddha Airlines is a capable company which has 72 seated three ATR, 42 seated three Atr and !9 seated two Beechcraft making it the biggest private airline company of Nepal whose market share is more than 60 percent.

The airlines flies in different destinations like Biratnagar, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Dhangadi, Nepalgunj, Bhadrapur etc making Kathmandu its central destination.

The airlines also repairs and maintains aircraft similar to those which it possesses, of other countries making it sole company to do so in the entire country. And, it also handles complexities of ATR and Beechcraft in the country.

The company also charters its aircraft to Banaras of India.
