Nepal Airlines Airbus A320-233 9N-AKW; Grounded at TIA

As per the officials, Nepal Airlines Corporation’s Airbus 320-233 aircraft with registration 9N-AKW has been grounded at Tribhuvan International Airport after having temporary malfunction of its auto-thrust system on the aircraft.

The ill-fated aircraft flight was en-route from Dubai to Kathmandu after the pilots encountered that the thrust levers of the aircraft was jammed and the aircraft was landed safely around 10:15 am at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.

The grounding of the Airbus aircraft limits the airline to only with another one Airbus (9N-AKX) and one remaining Boeing 757 aircraft therefore it is trying to reschedule few flights with the two left aircraft according to a spokesperson of NAC.

As per the source, NAC technicians noted that the problems would be fixed by tomorrow evening. Currently, NAC operates its flight by two Airbus 320-233 and a Boeing 757 to the international routes. Recently both the Airbus went through the temporary malfunction of its auto-thrust system on the aircraft.
