Government of India delaying for the proposal for Gautam Buddha International Airport

Although the rapid construction of ongoing Gautam Buddha International Airport project, due to the difficulties on signing “Open Skies Agreement “ between Nepal and India, the intended airport inauguration date is likely get postponed.
According to the sources, the Prime Minister Mr. Puspha Kamal Dahal visit to India has two agenda’s one of which includes the proposal for Open Air Space Agreement between the two countries. Government of India has been lengthening the agreement process for this time too which might cause further delay in the commencement of airport operation. The Bi-lateral talk between the both parties at Delhi failed to approve the open air space agreement again.
Some of part of India’s sky are essential for the landings and take offs of the aircraft from the Gautam Buddha International Airport so, the agreement has been regarded as the compulsion interrelationship between the two countries.
As, the location of Gautam Buddha International Airport is very near to the Border of India which accomplish the aircraft approaching to the runway and also take off from the airport to exercise some of the part of the Indian Sky.
Although, the then Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had laid the same agenda on his visit but Government of India has refused for approving the open air space for the Gautam International Airport. The airport has been scheduled to come into operation by the end of 2017.
