7 including Tourism Minster dead in Air Dynasty Helicopter Crash

-KATHMANDU

Air Dynasty Helicopter registered ‘9N-AMI’ flying to Taplejung for inspection of the possibility of construction of airport in Chuhandada, Terathum under the command of Capt. Pravakar K.C. carrying Honorable Minister Rabindra Adhikari, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) and 6 other passengers on board have crashed. The aircraft was engulfed with flames following the crash.

Prem Kumar Rai, Home Secretary stated that the chopper flew to Taplejung from Kathmandu today. According to the SP Sanjay Singh Thapa, local people and police ran towards the place after the fire was brunt with a loud sound.

The helicopter departed Kathmandu 8 AM today. Total 6 passengers have been reported to be on board with Managing Director of Yeti Airlines Ang Tshering Sherpa.

Passenger manifest has revealed the following names of souls on board the ill fated flight.

The human remains of from the crash are being prepared to be brought to Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu. The weather has been suspected as the preliminary cause for the crash. The detailed reasons are yet to be discovered.

It has been reported that 7 dead bodies have been discovered but still uncertain to announce whose dead bodies it is. Minister Secretary Bishnu Poudel confirmed the death of Minister Adhikari.

A group of 6 delegates along with Minister Adhikari flown to Taplejung from Kathmandu to inspect the area where a feasibility study had been conducted inorder to construct airport in Chuhandanda of Terathum.
