20% Construction Of Gautam Buddha International Airport Completed.
June 07, 2016 – Finally, the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport has been completed up to 20%. The airport is all set to be in operation from 2018 if there won’t be any national trouble inside Nepal and everything goes according to the plan.
For the construction of 3000m long runway, the task of Sub grading has been completed. Now, the workers are working on constructing upper layer of runway. The main obstruction for the construction of runway was ‘Ghaghara’ river which has been successfully diverted.
About 25% construction is hoped to be completed by the end of Asadh month. Daily 11 rollers, 11 excavators, 7 dozers, 60 Tipers, 4 transist mix and 2 mixing plant are being operated in construction site.
The construction of underneath part of Control Tower, Terminal Building will be completed within one month as reported. The operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport will act as an alternative for nation’s sole international airport TIA inorder to handle air traffic, diversions etc.
