Tribhuvan International busy from the morning today with more than five incoming flights

A Korean Air flight No. 9695 landed Tribhuvan Internatioal Airport (TIA) to rescue the passengers who has stranded in Nepal due to lockdown today. The Boeing 777-200 registration no. HL7714 has landed Kathmandu airport at around 8:15 AM today to carry the Korean citizens and Nepalese citizen with valid visa.
Likewise, Himalaya Airlines Airbus A319 9N-AJK is performing a test flight today in Nepal Airspace for 30 minutes. As per the Nepal Civil Aviation regulation test flight should be performed before conducting any commercial flight. It is said that Himalaya Airlines is preparing its flight to bring back the Nepalis stranded abroad due to COVID-19 as per the government decision.
In the mean time Nepal Airlines A320 as well as A330 will depart to Hongkong for the first time in this lockdown. Both A320 9N-AKX and 9N-AKW will depart to Hongkong (HKG) at around 21:00 (local time) in command of Capt. AR Pahari and Capt. NB Bishowkarma. Airbus A330 9N-ALZ is schedule to depart HKG at around 20:45 (local time) in command with Captain Javed Chaudhari. Out of 1,400 Nepalese with Hong Kong ID but stranded in Nepal due to lockdown, 587 are returning to Hong Kong.
The Government of Nepal has extended International flight suspension till June 30. Since March 24, Nepal has stopped regular flights with other countries as part of the government’s plan to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
However multiple repartition, medical supplies, and special flights have been permitted nationally and internationally. CAAN forces no restrictions for those special flights but special approval for those flights needs to be obtained before getting into skies.
