The Government of Nepal has decided to suspend all flights till August 31. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting on Monday.
Government’s previous announcement to initiate international and domestic flights starting August 17.
It is still undetermined which countries will be allowed and don’t have an efficacious protocol mindset.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has suggested flying just to nations besides the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation ( SAARC) within the first phase. Corona infections have recently been out on the upswing in India while in other nations they have been brought under control.
Contingency plans are underway to continue operating up to a couple of international flights every day, as per ministry sources. It has reviewed at the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) Board of Directors on Sunday. Even the ministry has done its research mostly on criteria to be followed when the flight begins.
The PCR test should’ve been accomplished 72 hours before the flight to Nepal according to sources and negative results in testing will only be accepted during the flight. After that, passengers have to stay in the home or hotel quarantine for 14 days in the case of a Nepali citizen. Passengers will only be intended to allow in the Community after a negative test.
A 7-day hotel quarantine must have been booked by non-resident Nepali and by foreign tourists. After that, they have to stay in the home quarantine for 7 days even if the self-paid PCR test is negative.
International Travelers visiting Nepal must visit the Nepal Embassy / Consulate at the respective countries before arriving Nepal for Visa. All on arrival visas are temporarily suspended for further notice.
The government of Nepal has decided to suspend all flights in Nepal from 24 March 2020.
