NAC Decided To Fly Chinese Aircraft For 3 Month
Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) was gifted two Chinese aircraft Xian MA-60 and Harbin Y-12e by china for giving an order of 1 MA-60 and 3 Y-12e. Those two aircraft are in the fleet of NAC but are being unable to render services to people as they become grounded frequently and are being burden to NAC. NAC is in huge loss due to these two aircraft. NAC has decided to fly Chinese aircraft MA-60 for 3 months. If any problem occurs till then and couldn’t be tackled by NAC itself, there would be no alternative to return those aircraft to china and to even cancel the order of coming Chinese aircraft.
It has been reported that NAC is compelled to pay huge insurance premium for Chinese aircraft. The premium is four times more than the premium of Boeing 757 and A320. NAC pays high amount for spareparts, pilot training and so on of chinese aircraft. MA-60 can conduct its flight to airports of Terai region with all 56 passengers onboard but it can’t takeoff with all passengers onboard from airports of Terai region due to payload. They must vacant 10 seats for takeoff. The runway length of Terai airports arenot sufficient for MA-60 and needs to be extend by 100m.
The performance of Chinese aircraft is very low and they are even banned in the sky of Europe and USA. These aircraft is pushing NAC into path of darkness. Hope this matter would be settled soon by taking appropriate and suitable decision.
