MID- AIR AMMUNITION DUMP ON A UNITED AIRLINES FLIGHT
A senior Pilot of United airline is reported to have dumped bullets down the toilet on plane.
United Boeing 767-400 with registration N69059 was enroute from Houston, TX (USA) to Munich (Germany) when the captain had to dispose 10 Bullets in his possession into the toilet. When the captain realized the bullets were still in his possession, he took the initiative to dump them into the waste bin inside aircraft but was later found by a flight attendant when she was searching for a lost ring of the passenger. Later, she was compliant to report the situation to the captain, who then informed the ground authorities about the status precisely. First class airline pilots in the U.S are allowed to carry guns on board post 9-11, given, they are trained and licensed. However, German authorities have very strict gun laws which led the captain to take the initiative to dump guns in mid-flight.
The incident was first reported by The Aviation Herald, who confirmed that the aircraft was guided to a remote parking area where passengers were disembarked and waste tanks were emptied to find the dumped bullets. The flight, after a delay departed again back. It is also being reported that even though the pilot disposed the bullets improperly, he may not face any criminal charges for the incident.
