“Flying along the majestic sceneries of our country is a dream that attracts thousands worldwide and to be able to do it on a regular basis is a feat that alone could draw anyone to the career I hold dear.”
Kiran Chettri is currently employed as a cabin crew at Saurya Airlines, an airline quickly building its reputation as one of the best in Nepalese aviation. “Being an air hostess is a dream come true and the experience this job has to offer in many ways is worth the struggle.”
Kiran, 21 is a permanent resident of Dhulabari, Jhapa and she currently resides at Kupondole,Lalitpur.
She completed her schooling from Himalayan English Academy and then moved on to KIST College of Management for her high school as well as her Bachelor’s degree. It was in 2013 that she completed her basic cabin crew training from Flytech International, Putalisadak, Kathmandu. It was not until March 2015 that she accomplished her dream of flying the skies as an air hostess when Saurya Airlines gave her the letter of appointment.
“My professional journey started off at Portal Pvt. Ltd, a housing company where I worked as a marketing manager. It was after many interviews with different airline companies that I finally got the call from Saurya about my selection for their or as if now our team. It was the most wonderful moment of my life when I got appointed at Saurya airlines. It has been a great experience flying through the domestic skies on a Bombardier CRJ200 jet”, said the 5ft 5” beauty.
She expressed her delight about being brought up by a very open minded parents who have been supporting her will to pursue her career as an air hostess.” My mother used to be a bit scared about the job that I do but she has coped with it and now drives me to push to even higher accomplishments”, added Kiran. On her inspiration she told,” I like interacting with different people, visiting various places around the world as well as enjoy the inflight experience and thus the job of an air hostess was the perfect fit for me.”
“Filled with excitement and thrill I stepped on for my first flight which was a routine flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It was then when air bound that I felt the actual happiness of being a cabin crew and the freedom it brought with it”, said an ecstatic Kiran. “For me being a cabin crew holds a lot of responsibilities which I think is the glue which holds the profession together. Being a glamorous and well reputed field as it is, there are many characteristics that need to be present in an individual or developed to become a successful air hostess. A well groomed and pleasant personality, friendly approach, fluent vocabulary and good communications skills would be the top of my priority list for a good cabin crew”, she said.
Aviation sector was been a wonderful workspace that doesn’t cease to amaze me. To the people enthusiastic about the aviation sector of the country, we have been delivering our best efforts and I would like to request them to keep up your love for aviation and see it reach new heights.
